First Thought from Barbados and Beyond

My name is Brett and this is my first "Thought from Barbados and Beyond."

I am unsure of what this blog will become but for now it's just random 'Thoughts from Barbados and Beyond' (for when i travel).

Barbados is highly rated as a tourist destination located in the Caribbean region.

Barbados is ranked 47th in the Human Development Index for 2011.

Temperatures in Barbados are warm all year around and therefore living in short pants is my preference.

Although the heat gets to me for most of the year, it's nice to travel abroad to cooler climates.

I like to travel.....but as I get older I find it more difficult to handle motion sickness.

From my early childhood memories, I was never good with motion in the back seat of a car or on water and had unpleasant times travelling with my ears popping all the time.

I used to be a professional thoroughbred jockey and have raced successfully in Barbados, Trinidad, Martinique and Toronto, Canada winning (I think) 174 times in my 10 year career.

From a horse racing accident I was involved in 21 years ago (Jan. 11th, 1992), where the horse I was riding fainted, I suffering a head injury (coma for 2 weeks).....I'm sure this didn't help with motion sickness.....

I now live and run my own business in Barbados helping promote the tourism product on my website "Totally Barbados.com". 

If you've been to Barbados before, the people and country are very likable and it is a pleasure to promote something, when you believe in the heart and soul of the people and country. 

You must travel to Barbados and experience it for yourself.
